Why Buy Women Built exists
The UK has a female entrepreneurship gap, and it is bigger than most people realise.
Buy Women Built highlights that the UK is 30% behind other developed countries when it comes to women starting businesses, and that if women started businesses at the same rate as men, it could add £250 billion to the UK economy.
It is not just an economic gap, it is a visibility gap too.
A statistic that really sticks is that 80% of 11–18 year olds cannot name a single female entrepreneur, and children are far more likely to think of a man when they hear the word “entrepreneur”.
Why Ferrocalm joined
Ferrocalm was created by Dr Jenny Bailey Cooper, a gut immunologist who has spent years in research and development, and who also understands what it is like to live with gut symptoms.
Ferrocalm exists because too many people feel dismissed, stuck in trial and error, or told that what they are experiencing is “just stress” or “just IBS”, without real support.
